Skeletons in Their Closett
Skeletons in Their Closet is a mixed media documentary, combining ink and bleach animation and live action.
Based on the experiences of soldiers of the fourth, fifth and sixth Norfolk Regiment, captured by the Japanese army during the second World War and interned in Prisoner of War camps the soldiers experienced illness, hardships and trauma. Through a series of interviews and kindly donated poetry, rudimentary photography and sketches, donated by the survivors themselves, the film was able to truly represent their experiences and memories, showcasing the resilience and strength of individuals who have overcome great challenges before the plight of the 'Forgotten Army,' was lost forever. The images and accompanying film tell that story using the voices of the soldiers themselves. Although this film is over ten years old and the contributors have since passed away it is a story that deserves to be told. The film is currently held by the Imperial War Museum.
